Foundational Mat/Tower
   Learn the fundamental exercises of the classical Pilates method on The Mat and The Tower (1/2 Cadillac) with arm/leg springs and rollback/push through bars. Foundational classes are best for students new to Classical Pilates and/or strength training and individuals with physical limitations. Exercise modifications are offered for those with chronic conditions or those recovering from minor orthopedic injury.
 


Mat/Tower 1
   Increase flexibility, build strength and learn to move from a strong center (your “Powerhouse”). Classes focus on releasing muscle tension to lengthen and strengthen tight, weak muscles. Matwork and resistance training on the Tower stabilize and strengthen the spine, improve abdominal, back, hip and shoulder strength and  promote a balanced, strong and flexible body.


Suitable for healthy individuals, and those who want to supplement their exercise routine with increased flexibility and strength, and improved balance and posture. Students who exercise regularly but are new to classical Pilates benefit most from Mat/Tower 1.

 


Mat/Tower 2
    Challenge your Powerhouse (abdominals, buttocks, back, shoulders and hips) with more complex Matwork and spring based Tower exercises. Students need to have an understanding of classical Pilates fundamentals and basic exercises, an awareness of posture, and the ability to maintain a strong center while moving. Exercises require concentration, coordination, precision, balance and cardio and muscular endurance for smooth, continuous controlled movement.

 

CONTROLOGY SESSIONS
(studio permission required)
Practice Pilates the way Joe Pilates’ students did in his original studio. Consistent classical Pilates students who demonstrate a commitment to learning the authentic method (Contrology), including apparatus set up and safety, precise  technique and effective execution of exercises,  and efficient transitions are invited to workout along side other dedicated students. Our fully equipped studio allows for individualized Pilates training in a small group environment.
