About M2M

We believe the term Pilates should not be used for any purpose other than referring to the original work and apparatus created by Joe Pilates. Pilates called his method Contrology, with the purpose of “gaining the mastery of your mind over the complete control of your body.”

Observations and studies of nature and movement along with experience as a caretaker during World War I influenced Pilates’ work. He spent his lifetime refining exercise and inventing apparatus in pursuit of health and well being. Joe Pilates taught his physical discipline in his NYC studio from the mid 1920’s until his death in 1967.

In his book RETURN TO LIFE THROUGH CONTROLOGY Joe Pilates asserts that his system of exercises “develops the body uniformly, corrects wrong postures, restores physical vitality, invigorates the mind, and elevates the spirit.”

Megan A. Moose

Studio owner Megan Moose was first introduced to Pilates at the North Carolina School of the Arts where she earned her high school diploma with a special concentration in classical ballet. She graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Exercise and Sport Science/Athletic Training. She is a Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) and member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA) and a NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS). Her professional work experience includes athletic training in sports medicine clinics and personal training.

Megan’s Peak Pilates Comprehensive Certification required over 500 hours of extensive personal practice and teaching. She earned additional certification from Romana’s Pilates in 2012. She is currently enrolled in THE WORK Masters Program with first generation teacher Jay Grimes at Vintage Pilates in Los Angeles, CA. Megan is a member of the Pilates Method Alliance and the Authentic Pilates Union.

Dru Parker

Dru Parker, a Gaston County native, attended Appalachian State University and earned her degree in Middle School Education.  She taught in Gaston County Schools for 10 years before staying home with her 3 children.

She was introduced to Pilates in 2005, and received her Mat Pilates certification in 2015 with Pilates Academy International of New York.  In 2016, she became certified to teach barre classes through CoreBarre of Charlotte.

In 2019, she completed her classical Pilates certification with Romana's Pilates.  This prestigious, comprehensive Pilates program required over 600 hours of apprentice observations, lessons, practice teaching, and written and practical tests throughout the program.  This certification has provided her with an understanding of how to safely use all of the classical Pilates apparatus and how to effectively create workouts for every individual, regardless of age, ability, fitness level, injury, or special conditions.

She is very excited to share the classical Pilates method with the Pilates community here at M2M Studio!
